BORN

Born in bondi Australia & inspired from a life of travelling, rhodin. envokes the Australian holiday spirit and speaks of quiet luxury and embodies quintessential chic.

Founded by Alex Nieuwenhuys in 2018, rhodin. represents her love of strong, cool, feminine design, colour and shapes drawn from landscape muses of favourite beaches, sunsets, places visited and yet to be discovered.

rhodin is made with a modernist approach yet embodies rich palettes of days gone by. Think golden eras, traditional family holidays along the coast and heading to the local store for that favourite flavour you just need to have.

The rhodin. range highlights Eyewear, followed by statement jewellery with drops of resort wear. Beach accessories will be joining the family later in 2025

Our studio is now based on the beautiful Central Coast of NSW, Australia.

ORIGIN

rhodin is also a family name with swedish origin and australian Coastal roots.

Alex’s nanny rhodin. and her mother jenny’s love of accessories ( particularly eyewear) are the foundation on which rhodin was built.

Alex is a former Sales & Marketing Director from within the Tourism Industry. For over 20 years she worked for some of the largest travel companies in the world and has visited over 35 countries and lived in 5. Working in Digital, Product & Traditional Hotel  sectors gave her an opportunity to understand what makes travelling so special and what inspired many of our rhodin. designs.

DESIGN

Designed with Intention, Comfort and considered manufacturing.

Taking our time to process the best products and delivering them to those who appreciate quality and craftsmanship at an affordable price point.

Eyewear is produced in Small Batches to offset wastage and excess stock. 

Frames are made with either PC or Acetate and house a CR39 lenses with a solid UV400 rating. rhodin also offers a polarised lens option in the majority of their LUXE collection.

Presented in a Cream Leather Embossed Case with soft lens cleaning cloth.

Our LUXE collection will also be offered from time to with with a special edition sunglass case - made to collect.

Jewellery is produced in Small Batches and made of plated Stainless Steel in either 18k gold or silver. Made with water resistant coating.

rhodin. has developed an international following and has sold into over 40 countries.

Our online store coupled with a selection of wholesale clients both boutique and large scale ecommerce ensure rhodin. is available to those who would love to experience our pieces.

• Acetate is made in Hong Kong and focuses on cellulose/bio acetate where available.
• Plastics offered for moulding can include the use of recycled car lights and plastic water bottles.

• SCOPE Certification from the IDFL ( Auditing body) which has found them to conform to the Global Recycled Standard ( GRS) Version 4.0
